How to use this kit
- Run the Ten Day Inventory (Part 1).
- Sort every task by era with the money test (Part 2).
- Kill first (Part 3).
- Record, then write, using the transcript prompt (Part 4).
- Climb the Handoff Ladder one rung at a time (Part 5).
- Automate the glue (Part 6).
- Run the November Dry Run and fill in the Coverage Sheet (Parts 7 and 8).
- Send the holiday notices (Part 9).
- Follow the 30 Day Handoff Calendar and score yourself (Parts 10 and 11).
Time commitment: about 15 minutes a day for ten days, then two to three focused hours a week for the next month.
Part 1. The Ten Day Inventory
For ten working days, log every task you touch. Be specific. "Client stuff" is not a task. "Rebuilt the onboarding doc for the new client" is.
Rules:
- Log as you go, or at minimum at lunch and at the end of the day.
- Include the off-laptop work: calls, texts, the parking lot emails.
